Cinedigm has announced the October release date for the DVD and Blu-Ray of their upcoming film, 4GOT10.
The venerable stars of awesome action movies, Dolph Lundgren (Rocky), Danny Trejo (Machete), Michael Paré (Streets Of Fire) and Vivica A. Fox (Kill Bill) team up in this hard bitten, kick ass action/crime movie.
According to Flickering Myth, the film is about a wounded man (Messner), who suddenly wakes up in the desert.
Surrounded by bodies, the mysterious stranger has no memory, but he comes loaded with three million dollars cash. On the run from the law and mob, the man with no name has to stay one step ahead from a ruthless DEA Agent (Lundgren), the Mexican Cartel Boss (Trejo) and the local sheriff (Paré). The amnesiac discovers that the more he remembers, the less he actually wants to know about who he really is.
Cinedigm says, Director Timothy Woodward Jr.’s vision created a modern, semi-western style which he’s described as “Django Unchained” meets “Memento”. In addition to his talent, Timothy is known for giving his actors the freedom to improvise, and encourages their creative input to help the scenes flow organically.
Woodward, Jr. explained how the concept came about,
"My team and I worked hard to create a stylized picture that captures the characters in this fascinating fictitious small town. The modernized western approach furthers our intention to encapsulate the grittiness of the world and the realness of the characters.”
Woodward adds, "Our use of practical effects (as opposed to CG) intensifies the grittiness of the world. When you use real effects - real fire, hot guns, true explosions - you throw the actors right into the middle of the situation, harvesting their most authentic reactions. This can be difference between a good action film and a great one.”
From us here at Dr.Action and the Kick Ass Kid we love our frequent doses of Lundgren and Trejo straight-to-video action. Yeah they can be a bit hit and miss but that only reminds us more of the heyday of video action films. The trailer and the talk from the director definitely has our interest piqued for this one.
After Skin Trade I hope Lundgren continues to pump out the interesting performances and the cool, ass kicking roles for a long time yet!

The Expendables 3 Teaser Trailer #2 and 16 Character Photos
Anyway, whatever happens, in Sly we trust!
To complement this trailer, yesterday, they also released 16 individual cast photographs which are both cool but a little odd. Why do these pictures show lighting equipment? why are there no backdrops? why are they lazy? why are the lights in the photos not doing anything useful? How do these advertise an action film? I love the cast and the photos of the people directly are good but these look like out-take posters, it just makes me want to take these pics and make my own EX3 posters with them on photoshop!
Maybe that's the point!
Anyway, here they are, ENJOY!
Tell us what you think!

EXPENDABLES 3 ROUND UP
With Stallone, Willis, Arnold and Statham all doing press tours on various other movies right now, interview snippets and sound bites have been pouring in daily.
Cold hard facts are not easy things to come by in the casting, with everyone reporting something different.
Going strictly from Sly's Twitter feed this year, what we can say for certain is that
Stallone
Lundgren
Rourke
and
Wesley Snipes will be in the cast as will new comers UFC champ Ronda Rousey and boxing star Victor Ortiz
Staying with Sly's twitter feed for the moment, he has also hinted at, but not solidly confirmed, Jackie Chan, Steven Seagal, Mel Gibson, Gina Carano and even Antonio Banderas although Carano and Banderas haven't been mentioned anywhere else whereas Jackie Chan and Mel Gibson have been confirmed in other interviews, like the one below, and the Steven Seagal rumour has only been confirmed by a Bulgarian news outlet and not the star himself.
Lastly Sly said recently in an interview with TheArnoldFans.com:
"We have a great director and the best stunt coordinator in the world. I said we’re going to make this like there’s no two other Expendables and that this is the first one. And we got Mel Gibson, Nic Cage, Jackie Chan and Wesley Snipes and now I have FIVE NEW guys that you have never heard of."
This would seem an odd claim to make as inside sources claim Mel Gibson hasn't confirmed yet (Source: Cinemablend.com), Nic Cage told DenOfGeek "I'm not in Kick-Ass 2 and I don't think I'm in Expendables 3 and I like those guys, but I would say it would be highly unlikely that I'd be in that movie" and I haven't read anything official about Jackie Chan since he made his statement that he would definitely do it but only if his part was substantial.
Statham has confirmed in several interviews that he is definitely returning and as Sly's right hand man in the first two it would seem odd if he didn't.
I have read that Schwarzenegger is definitely returning but nothing concrete from Willis yet.
We are also going to assume that Jet Li, Randy Couture and Terry Crews are also back. Terry Crews says that he is and in the same interview he confirms Milla Jovovich's definite involvement, which was another long-running rumour that's been buzzing about.
IMDB lists Jovovitch and Li but, weirdly, not Couture and Crews.
There's lots of worrying news about the stupidly named, vacant eyed, bland and probably brainless nobody Kellan Lutz (who's apparently from those fucking Twilight movies) being in talks for EX3 too but I hope that's just his agent's wishful thinking (or tactic) and/or he is the young meat puppet that gets killed in the first 5 minutes like Thor's brother in EX2.
So that's about it, so far. No word yet on who will be Statham's British counterpart. There was Vinnie Jones murmurings but I still hold out hope for Darren Shahlavi.
Plotwise the film is meant to centre around either The Expendables against a young group of computer criminals, The Expendables saving the President or both. I hope the computer nerd villain storyline is just a rumour because we've already seen Die Hard 4.
So what do you think? and who would you cast?
The film is scheduled for release August 2014

Dolph Lundgren is Invincible (but then we knew that, right?)
Dolph Lundgren is officially the hardest working man in action. With a TV Show and 8 films (that's 8 films!!!) in the pipeline, it seems that, over the last 2 or 3 years Lundgren is, wisely, capatalising on the success of The Expendables by hurriedly making and appearing a ridiculous amount of films in '11, '12 and now 2013 and we here at The Doc and The Kids underground action cave couldn't be happier. We wish Van Damme was doing the same thing!
Now not all of these 9 movies are going to be stone cold classics of course but with one of them being a Kung Fu western with Tony Jaa (A Man Will Rise), one of them being another pair up with Scott Adkins (Tomb of the Dragon), one of them being a Red Heat style buddy cop film that he helped write (Skin Trade) and one of them being Expendables 3 you can't fail to be excited and fist bump the nearest action fan and say YEAH!
To add to this impressive roster of films is the news today that Lundgren will be starring in a film as an invincible super soldier going up against Ving Rhames's cop. In what sounds like Universal Soldier meets Robocop, Rhames gets gunned down but is given a second chance when the government then make him a super soldier too and they have to go head to head.
Filmed in Canada, written and directed by Daniel Zirilli and produced by Richard Salvatore the film is currently in pre-production and I am sure Lundgren will get to it when he's finished his 8 other features!!
Now seriously Van Damme, you and Dolph were the best things in EX2 and were both given your time to shine! with only the upcoming 'Swelter' that even seems a remote cause for excitement, you really need to be doing more right now!

No longer Jean-Claude Van Damme now Dolph Lundgren Joins Tony Jaa and A Man Will Rise
We reported on the site, a while back, that there were rumours JCVD and Tony Jaa would be working together soon. Well, we sincerely hope that still happens but, in the meantime, we are also happy to report that, another favourite action hero of ours, Dolph Lundgren has stepped into the fray for a new film, retitled from Local Hero to A Man Will Rise.
We have some EXCLUSIVE pictures from behind the scenes of this film which looks to be from the small, rare but always fun genre mash-up East meets Western. Which span films the likes of The Fighting Fists of Shanghai Joe from 1973 and The Good, the Bad and The Weird (2008).

Here's hoping Van Damme picks up some good roles soon and starts to monopolise on being the best thing in Expendables 2.

Dolph Lundgren wanted for He-Man reboot and JCVD wants to bring Van Dammage to Avengers 2!
As is seemingly inevitable in this day and age, not content with remaking every horror film we hold dear they are now going to start working their way through our action childhood too and a remake or reboot (or whatever word is trendy that week) of Masters of The Universe is in the works."I don't know if Dolph Lundgren is around or what he's doing but, yeah, I think that could be some fun if we could find a way. I hope he still has the loincloth and the long hair and everything."
As there's nothing official yet you can take this with a pinch of salt.
Do you want to see a new MOTU movie?
Do you want to see Lundgren in there in some capacity?
Let us know!
The other bit of random casting news this week was that loveable, puppy hugging, splits doing Belgian, Jean-Claude Van Damme posted that picture (to the left) to his Facebook page and said:
"It was my pleasure to meet Mr. Stan Lee (creator of "X-Men", "The Incredible Hulk" and "Spider-Man") back in 1994, along with Mr. Samuel & Mr. Victor Hadida! I read that Chris Hemsworth (star of "Thor" and brother of Liam Hemsworth, "The Expendables 2") would like me to costar in "The Avengers 2" movie! Well, it would be fun to play one of these types of amazing comic book characters again. By the way, I am a big fan of Marvel's superhero Silver Surfer and also another heroic fictional character known as Doc Savage - the Man of Bronze!"
No indication where he heard that Thor wanted him in the film (possibly from his brother, Liam, on the set of EX2) but it's pretty much assured that, sadly, this will never happen.
I have read a lot of blogs deriding Van Damme or saying he was a has been, well I know people want any and all information on Avengers 2 possible but when was the last time people wrote this many blogs and news articles on a has-beens Facebook post?? hmmmmmmm?
Haters gotts hate I guess.
I personally would LOVE to see an 80s or 90s action star like Van Damme (or whoever) in some of one of these big comic book movies. They'd bring it, they'd own it and their scene or scenes would be legendary. FACT.
Do you want Van Damme in Avengers 2?
What other Expendable cast member would you want in a comic book movie?
Who would they play?
